Thomas Goff MBChB, FRCS T&O, PGDip SEM
Private Consultant Foot & Ankle Surgeon
I am a full-time Consultant Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon working in both the NHS and private sector. I specialise in the assessment and treatment of all foot & ankle conditions. Most notably, I offer my patients expertise in minimally invasive (keyhole) foot & ankle surgery.
I run my private practice from Spire Methley Park Hospital. This well connected, centrally located hospital (M1 & M62) has specialist equipped theatres, fantastic outpatient facilities, and the latest diagnostic technologies.
Patients are attracted from across Yorkshire, seeking my keyhole surgical experience. This modern approach minimises soft tissue injury, reduces scarring, reduces post surgical pain, and often enables earlier return to footwear, recreational activities, and work. I am proud to have published extensively in this area.
My innovative and modern approaches where developed during my fellowship training in Australia, at the prestigious North Sydney Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Centre. I was delighted to be awarded the prestigious British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society Travelling Fellowship.
During a year of in-depth high quality training, I gained experience in the management of elite athletes, developed keyhole surgery techniques, advanced arthroscopic surgery skills, and adopted a focus on enhanced post surgical recovery. Latterly, I have completed a Diploma in Sports and Exercise Medicine (PGDip SEM) linked with the University of Bath.
I recognise that many patients come to me having struggled with pain or deformity for several years, often having put off or put up with their problem. Whilst others have a sudden sports injury or accident at work/home, and want help to get back to normal as quickly as able.
I pride myself on approaching problems pragmatically, considering your circumstances and needs, and working closely with my team of outstanding professional colleagues to give you clear, honest, high quality advice. I take the time to work with you on a treatment plan (which may or may not involve surgery).
